I figured with Windows 8 releasing today and all the talk of backwards compatibility that this would be a good topic to touch upon. Dead formats and all the pain it causes gamers, oh the pain...

Yeah... I remember saying I'd never get rid of mine... and now it's gone... :( so sad. I suppose that's the cost of progress, but I'm glad to see some people holding onto those things. ^_^

Kinda like how the modern generation will never appreciate the epicness that was old systems, namely the SNES and the Sega Genesis

Yeah, those were some pinnacle gaming days, there's just something about that era we'll never see again.

Just waiting for the moment to rise up and strike! The way I see it, the sooner we move to solid state media the quicker we can remove spinning weapons of death from our machines to use against us during the great machine uprising. XD

Thats actually a reasonable theory how ever if a computer wanted to it could shut down all its fans and over heat to the point of a fire while you sleep. >> but i suppose if your like me and live in a basement it would be a great change of pace lol

Lol yeah given my computer sits under a wooden desk next to walls with wooden panneling which meet with a drop ceiling of highly flammable tile...It would get warm fast....knowing me... I would just curl up and enjoy the heat lol
