The last convention we were at was located in a building that had an "arcade" in the basement. It's really kinda sad how far arcades have dropped out these days. I had so many great memories of playing games like Crazy Taxi, DDR, Samurai Showdown and Street Fighter in some great arcades, and these days they're all drying up. But occasionally you'll find one... you're hopes begin to rise, then burst like a proverbial Space Invader hit by a laser.

Awww.... that would have almost been a life saver there... DDR and Time Crisis are an arcade staple, but so are quarters

Indeed, quite sad. I sorta understand why arcades are disappearing, but I will sorrily miss them.

Well, in Japan, they are bigger than ever, with new games made for them a few times a year

Yeah, they take them pretty seriously over there! Though I hear they're suffering from arcade shrinkage too, they're arcades seem to dwarf what's left of ours over here in the states. All the more reason to visit Japan sometime I suppose ^_^
